Welcome to Kingsburg
One of the most historic villages in Nova Scotia.
“The KCA would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Mi’kmaq Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), and Passamaquoddy Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1726. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.”
The history of Kingsburg is a long and storied one - starting with the Aboriginal peoples, followed by the early settlements of Europeans, to the present day community. Just as the original Kingsburg families did, people from all over the world continue to settle here and create their own history.
We invite you to spend some time exploring the history of our community - the people, their stories and the photos that contribute to make Kingsburg the vibrant community it is today.
Enjoy!
